The papers presented in the  international symposium  held by the coordination of our university and governorship of Hakkari, “Hakkari in History”,  the first one in which the history and political, social and cultural structure of Hakkari were  handled, were compiled in a book and introduced to world of science.

In the book "The International Symposium of Hakkari in History“, the political, social and cultural structure is handled in detail.  44 papers, presented by the academicians and researchers in the country and abroad, were compiled by the Directorate of Press and Public Relations of our in a two-volume book under the name of  "The International Symposium of Hakkari in History“.  The papers were published in Turkish, Kurdish, Arabic and English.

Our rector Prof. Dr. Ebubekir Ceylan who has made a statement on the publication of the book said: “International Symposium of Hakkari in History” is the first symposium in which the history of Hakkari is handled and the fifth one that our university has held so far.  As is known, the district called “Hakkari” is located in the region which is in the intersection of Turkey, Iraq and Iran state borders.  This province has been used as a place of living and has played host to different civilisations and cultures since ancient times.  In the name of introducing Hakkari, which also has made contributions to Islam, we, Hakkari University, have done our duty and compiled the papers presented in the “International Symposium of Hakkari in History”  held in order to contribute to scientific knowledge and enlighten the society.   We are delighted that we have made a little bit contribution for this history to be known.  I would like to thank for all those participants and researchers  who attended the symposium with their papers, ideas and suggestions as well as  our staff who have done their best for the symposium.
